The Department of Food and Agricultural Product Technology (TPHP), Universitas Gadjah Mada, held a guest lecture on Monday (Sept 15) featuring Wednes Aria Yuda, S.T.P., owner of Cokelat nDalem. The session, part of the Introduction to Agricultural Technology course, took place in Room 102 of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology from 09:00 to 10:40 and was mandatory for all first-semester TPHP students.
The lecture provided students with an early overview of food technology, a field they will explore in greater depth throughout their studies. Drawing on his expertise in chocolate processing, Mr. Wednes shared both technical knowledge and entrepreneurial experience, demonstrating how academic concepts can be transformed into practical applications in the food industry.
The initiative also reflects Universitas Gadjah Mada’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) by enriching student learning, SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) by linking academia with industry, and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) through discussions on sustainable chocolate production.
Through this engagement, TPHP UGM hopes that students will not only gain a stronger academic foundation but also be inspired to grow as innovators and changemakers in advancing Indonesia’s food technology sector.
