Yogyakarta–On Wednesday (28/8), the Department of Food and Agricultural Product Technology (TPHP), Faculty of Agricultural Technology (FTP), Universitas Gadjah Mada once again marked an important milestone through a meaningful graduation ceremony. In this period, a total of 167 graduates completed their studies with dedication and perseverance. Among them, 50 were graduates from the Department of TPHP, consisting of 14 men and 36 women.
In his address, the Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology UGM expressed his pride and highest appreciation to all graduates. He conveyed a message that the knowledge gained during their studies is expected to bring benefits and blessings, not only for themselves but also for the wider community. “With perseverance and an unyielding spirit, graduates will be able to face every challenge in the future,” he stated.

This graduation also recorded special achievements. Nidya Khansa, at the age of 21 years and 5 months, was recognized as the youngest graduate. Meanwhile, Annaria Januari Christy, a graduate of the Food and Agricultural Product Technology Program, earned the title of best graduate with a GPA of 3.95.
On this occasion, Annaria, representing the graduates, delivered an inspiring speech. She reflected on the challenging journey of FTP students, ranging from tight schedules of lectures and practicums, reports, assignments, to organizational activities, research, and community service. With warmth, Annaria shared:
“We realize that facing our generation, which is often full of breakthroughs that may sometimes be difficult to understand, is certainly not an easy matter. Yet, through collaboration and synergy, we have successfully graduated with all the challenges across generations. This graduation is not the end of the journey, but the beginning of a new chapter in our lives.”
She also reminded us that every difficult process during college life has shaped a more mature mindset, knowledge, and mentality. “The values of hard work, collaboration, integrity, and social awareness are the true identity of FTP UGM alumni,” Annaria emphasized.
To conclude her speech, Annaria quoted a passage from Paulo Coelho’s novel The Alchemist: “When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.” This quote serves as a reminder that every dream is worth pursuing and will eventually find its way to realization.
With the spirit of togetherness and optimism, this graduation marks a new beginning for graduates to create, contribute, and make a wider impact. The entire academic community of FTP UGM extends their best wishes and prayers so that graduates may apply their knowledge, creativity, and empathy in addressing the challenges of the nation.
