The Department of Food and Agricultural Product Technology (TPHP), Universitas Gadjah Mada, proudly celebrated the graduation of 48 undergraduate students on Wednesday, May 28, during the Third Undergraduate Graduation Ceremony of the 2024/2025 academic year.

This year’s title of Best Graduate was awarded to Yuveny, a Food and Agricultural Product Technology Study Program student. Yuveny completed her studies in just 3 years and 8 months, achieving an outstanding cumulative GPA 3.96 and graduating with honors (cum laude).

Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Prof. Dr. Ir. Eni Harmayani, M.Sc., congratulated the graduates, commending their hard work and perseverance throughout their academic journey. Also in attendance was Mr. Erista Adisetya, Chairman of the Agricultural Technology Alumni Association (KAGAMA TP), who delivered a warm and encouraging message. He expressed his pride in the graduates and shared his hopes that the knowledge gained during their studies will bring value and impact in the future.

In her farewell speech, Yuveny, as the representative of the graduates, reflected on the challenges behind her achievement.  She emphasized that the road to graduation was filled with sacrifice and doubt, but all the struggles were worth it when she finally stood among friends to celebrate this milestone. She also quotes a sentence from Indonesian female hero, R.A. Kartini, “Awit saka pepesthening manungsa iku kudu sinau terus”, which means “Because it is human nature to keep on learning.”

This graduation marks the completion of students’ academic journey and signifies the beginning of a new chapter in their lives as professionals and contributors to society. The TPHP UGM Department hopes that all the graduates will carry forward the spirit of lifelong learning, uphold the values of integrity, and become agents of change who bring a positive impact wherever they go.
