Guest Lecture on Indonesian Gastronomy: Molecular Gastronomy

On Tuesday, November 16, 2021, the Indonesian Gastronomy course of the Department of Food and Agricultural Products Technology UGM held a guest lecture on the topic “Molecular Gastronomy”. This guest lecture was presented by Andrian Ishak, who is the founder of Namaaz Dining. The guest lecture, which took place at 07.15-08.55 WIB, was held through the Zoom platform and moderated by Andika Wicaksono Putro, S.T.P., M.Sc., TPHP UGM lecturer.

Molecular gastronomy is a term invented by Nicholas Kurti, a Hungarian nutritionist. Gastronomy focuses on culinary science, but many people do not want to apply science in the kitchen because people think it is not related to cooking. The two indirectly collaborate because science helps create tools and determine the ingredients used. read more

On Saturday, November 6, 2021, the Coffee, Tea, and Cocoa Processing Technology course of the UGM TPHP Department held a guest lecture on the topic “Alkalization of Cocoa Nibs, Mass, and Cake Processes”. The guest lecture was delivered by Drs. Purwo Susanto, who is the author of the book Cocoa and Chocolate Production Technology. The guest lecture, which took place from 09.00-11.00 WIB, was conducted through the Zoom platform and moderated by Dr. Ir. Supriyadi, M.Sc., lecturer of TPHP UGM. read more

Guest Lecture on Introduction to Agricultural Technology: Entrepreneurship

On Monday, September 27, 2021, the Introduction to Agricultural Technology course of TPHP UGM held a guest lecture on the topic of “Entrepreneurship”. This guest lecture was presented by Wednes Aria Yuda, owner of Cokelat nDalem, and hosted by Prof. Dr. Ir. Tyas Utami, M.Sc., TPHP UGM lecturer. The guest lecture which took place at 09.00-10.40 WIB was held through the Zoom platform and was attended by 110 participants.

Cokelat nDalem is a chocolate product brand that was originally marketed to tourists visiting Yogyakarta. Cokelat nDalem has a variety of products with different market segments but still pays attention to licensing and product legality. One of the nDalem chocolate product variants, Boenbeans, is made to pay attention to the welfare of cocoa farmers by providing SOPs and guidance to farmers so that the quality of chocolate produced is high. read more

Gunawan Wibisono, who is the President Director and Co-Founder of PT Sumber Inti Pangan. The guest lecture which took place on Monday, September 20, 2021, at 09.20-11.05 WIB was hosted by Dr. Dwi Larasatie Nur Fibri, S.T.P., M.Sc. Guest Lecture on Introduction to Agricultural Technology: A Career in the Food Industry

On September 13, 2021, the Introduction to Agricultural Technology course of TPHP UGM held a guest lecture with the theme “Career in the Food Industry”. This guest lecture was presented by Ir. Erista Adisetya, M.M. who is an alumnus of TPHP UGM, and hosted by Prof. Dr. Ir. Tyas Utami, M.Sc., a lecturer at TPHP UGM. The guest lecture which took place at 14.00-16.00 WIB was held through the Zoom platform and was attended by 111 participants.

The college period is a critical time in determining future careers. The key to determining a career is to understand yourself, focus on the path to be taken, and not limit the challenges in achieving success. Career focuses in the TPHP field that can be pursued include the food industry, operational divisions, entrepreneurs, and academics. read more

This guest lecture was delivered by Diana Setiyawati from the Faculty of Psychology UGM and hosted by Dr. Dwi Larasatie Nur Fibri, S.T.P., M.Sc., a lecturer at TPHP UGM. 7th Annual Regional Competition 2021 Awards

The Department of Food and Agricultural Products Technology UGM congratulates 4 UGM TPHP teams who have made achievements at the 7th Southeast Asian Agricultural Engineering Student Annual Regional Competition 2021 (ARC 2021).

The winners of the Model Construction Video category with the Food Engineering sub-theme are Bangun Prajanto Nusantoro, S.T.P., M.Sc. (TPHP UGM Lecturer), Oryza Ramadhania (TPHP 2018), Muhammad Yusril Hana (TPHP 2018), and Adiba Tsalsabilla (TPHP 2019) with the working title “CROD-IT: Circular Frying System with Rapid Oil Degradation Measurement based on Internet of Things” won the gold medal and the most favorite work. The winners of the Green Technology sub-theme were Andika Wicaksono Putro, S.T.P., M.Sc. (TPHP UGM Lecturer), Renno Meidi Akrommin (TPHP 2019), Shri Bhuwana Tungga Devi (TPHP 2019), and Maria Angela Putri Rahardja (TPHP 2019) with the title “Food Plant: Gamification as an Effect to Change Individual Behaviour on Food Waste Problem” won the bronze medal and the most favorite work. read more

Socialization of the 2021 Curriculum

The Socialization of the 2021 Curriculum was held on Friday, August 6, 2021, via the Zoom and Youtube Streaming platforms. This socialization was carried out in the context of changing the 2016 Curriculum to the 2021 Curriculum and implementing Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) in the curriculum. This event was delivered by Dr. Ir. Tyas Utami, M.Sc., and Dr. Dwi Larasatie Nur Fibri, S.T.P., M.Sc. and was attended by lecturers and active TPHP students in 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021.

In the 2021 Curriculum, there are several adjustments made, including the Curriculum Mandatory Courses (MKWK), the distribution of courses each semester, the rules for taking courses, final assignments, and the MBKM policy. The MBKM policy that is implemented is by accommodating credits for students who take part in MBKM programs, such as student exchanges and final assignments which can be done by research, industrial internships, entrepreneurship, or independent projects. read more
