The guest lecture which took place on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at 13.30-15.00 WIB was hosted by Dr. Dwi Larasatie Nur Fibri, S.T.P., M.Sc. This guest lecture was held through the Webex platform and attended by 102 participants.

Currently, to strengthen and expand the product marketing network can use the help of e-commerce and resellers. E-commerce is an electronic mall or electronic marketplace in which there are many sellers. Some of the giant e-commerce or marketplaces in Indonesia include Shopee, Tokopedia, Bukalapak, Blibli.com, Facebook Marketplace, GoFood, GrabFood, and others.

E-commerce is a useful tool for marketing products because of transaction security, a variety of payment and delivery methods, a wider and more efficient reach, as well as economy and flexibility. In addition, e-commerce also provides convenience in recapitulating sales data because it presents dashboard analytics (best-selling items, target consumers, and sales trends), financial reports (profit and loss reports, reports on the income and expenditure of goods in daily, weekly, monthly time), and consumer needs survey data needed as material for analyzing business strategies in policy making.

The keys to success in marketing products through e-commerce include providing competitive prices, providing responsive, fast, and friendly purchasing services, providing complete and clear information on goods and services, providing many bonuses, such as coupons, special offers, and discounts, providing special attention such as purchase suggestions, providing space for discussion, customer feedback, etc., and facilitating buying and selling activities. There are also tips for compiling effective content to be displayed in e-commerce, namely by presenting attractive photos, displaying product names that are easy to enter into searches (keywords), providing clear and complete descriptions, and completing videos or links.

“E-commerce has algorithms that change every day so you have to learn the details, but it’s useless to learn if you don’t apply it,” said Mas Rizky. Mas Rizky also explained the need for commitment to maintain digital marketing continuity to successfully increase sales through e-commerce.
